A River Runs Through It

A River Runs Through It and Other Stories is a semi-autobiographical collection of three stories by American author Norman Maclean (1902–1990) published in 1976. I’ve read and pondered A River Runs Through It numerous times over the years. The fly fishing stories hooked me. The nonpareil? Norman’s fathomless journey describing how he came to terms with his brother's (Paul's) death beside swirling currents, deep waters, fly casts, and prized trout. That haunted me and became the genesis of Moon Sunn.
